Monster Mash - Oct 28th 2023
Teaming up with local market The Tacoma Art Market to present a free community event that brings all the traditional joys of Halloween with an extra flare of artistic presentation :D The event is all ages, free to the public and includes trick-or-treating, artistic vendors, a costume contest and some sci-fi inspired dance surprises!
Nocturnal IV - Dec 31st 2023
Started in 2018, the concept of Nocturnal is to give digital artists access to an opportunity to cut loose and express themselves without limitations. The RGB gamut is so very very different the CMYK gamut and art that is created digitally truly shines in its own medium. If you don't know what that means in terms of artistic delivery, think of it like this - You have never looked at a traditional painting and had to squint your eyes because it was too bright but a screen or projection can make you do exactly that.
Reggae On The Way - July 15th & 16th 2023
Residual was proud to partner with REGGAE ON THE WAY 2023 in presenting some amazing local visual artists! The island community is full of community values, fierce loyalty and peace loving vibes. All traits we can get fully behind. There were so many shining faces and so many hearty smiles at the sight of the interactive selfie murals. Families, couples and tons of friends chatted with artists, took zillions of photos and general just had a great time at the event. We hope we can return to share the event again someday!
Planet Of The Arts - May 27th 2023
Many times art is not about making a sale or vending artisan products. There is nothing wrong with those aspects of art, but while there are many markets and fairs to make sales at, artists seldom have a platform or resources to express grand ideas and concepts which can and do change the perspective of those that view their exhibition. Art is about CONCEPTS, ideas and alternate perspectives. Planet of the Arts is an event that not encourages those expressions but places resources directly in the hands of artists and grants them the freedom to execute and exhibit their concepts and ideas.
